What began as web experiments in the early 90s, when the internet was so new and fresh, has grown into a studio for bespoke fantasy writing and research, drawing and painting, mail and mischief.

The name of the studio has evolved a few times but the mission remains forever the same: lighthearted things that do not exist but should. Make the world a bit weirder, more special. Tap into the magic underpinning existence. Celebrate Halloween every day.

My work frequently revolves around:

  • “Monster? You mean my best friend in the multiverse who has done nothing wrong, ever, to anyone?”
  • Fantastical worlds that do not now, nor ever have, nor ever will, have humans as inhabitants.
  • Tearing apart tropes that mermaids and other aquatic monsters are naturally inferior to magic and/or are inherently less civilized than the terrestrial monsters.
  • Similarly, offering alternatives to the pervasive conceit that half elves are intrinsically inferior to elves.
  • Adapting real world systems to fantasy world systems (most overtly: the post office).

Atticus (they/them)

A cartoonist and writer and researcher and dreamer of wild, wonderful places near by and far away. Atticus favors bold adventures by night and quiet, relaxing brunches and carefree park strolls by day.

Fang (she/her)

The loudest voice in my bouquet of support and the silliest, most ridiculous person I have ever had the pleasure of making nonsense with.

Fang is my producer, helping me keep on track (and/or distracting me when I delve into realms unproductive).

Her storytelling ability and improvisational skills are unmatched. On top of all of this, she is terrifyingly knowledgable in seemingly all things sci-fi and fantasy.

Back Office

In addition to the front office shop, Netherworld Post Office also offers RPG lore, character, monster, and realm research and writing services.

My entire line of work is available for bulk orders for weddings and parties, or wholesale for stationery stores and gift shops. Discounts and shipping speed based on volume.
